Generally, programming will run rain or shine. However, if the weather conditions present a safety risk to participants and staff, we will take the following actions:
1) Staff will be looking ahead at forecasts and weather warnings before all programs to do our best to properly prepare participants for the weather conditions for their program
2) Adapt programming to better suit the weather conditions (for example, move a portion of the program inside to limit the amount of time outside in an extreme heat or cold event). Often, this is enough to mitigate risk and allow programming to go ahead.
3) In extreme cases where the road conditions, air quality, severe storm risk, or temperature are not able to be mitigated, staff will get in touch with the contact person on the registration and present an alternative timing or a refund.
In the event of a thunderstorm during programming, we will seek shelter until the storm passes.
